great location,, but maintenance needs improvement

The hotel has an excellent pool area that my family enjoyed every evening after our visits to nearby attractions. The staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the zoo, allowing us to easily explore the wonderful exhibits and gardens.

The overall condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired.

The hotel feels outdated and in dire need of renovations. The rooms appeared poorly maintained with patch repairs and fixtures like rust stains in the bathrooms and malfunctioning toilets. Additionally, the towels were threadbare and had holes, making for an unsatisfactory experience compared to expectations.

The room was such a letdown. The tub had rust and didn't drain properly. The shower curtain was super dirty at the bottom. The towels had holes, which was kind of gross. The patch repairs on the walls looked half-done, and the ceiling even had some mold that was just painted over. It felt so rundown that it just made the whole stay uncomfortable. On a positive note, the size of the room was nice, and it had a pull-out couch that was comfy when we used it.

The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, assisting me promptly with my requests and ensuring my stay was comfortable. The hotel's proximity to the Henry Doorly Zoo made it convenient for my family and me to enjoy some delightful outings together.
